Hey Y’all, I’m Troy and this is the story of Troy’s Backyard BBQ Sauce.

I grew up in Alabama where great BBQ is everywhere, at home was no exception.

Anyone that has tried “low and slow” knows it takes lots of practice to git good at it. My dad, a self-taught BBQ griller was always trying to get his recipies just right. That meant there were many nights that supper was undercooked or burnt. My poor mom would scramble to make something to go with the side dishes she had made. Eventually ol’ dad got pretty good at grilling. Family and friends could not wait to have the next meal of mouth watering ribs or pulled pork. Dad always said, “Now if I just had my own sauce, I would have it made!”

By the time I got to college, I was already pretty good at grilling, after all, I’d been watching dad do his thing for years! I knew the ins and outs, I’d experimented and had a few failures of my own.  This is when I decided to try my hand at making that sauce dad always wanted. My first attempt turned out great! I was so excited. I shared the recipe with my mom and dad. Dad really liked it, mom did too, but she was always the best cook in the family, so she had to add her master touch and thus my sauce was nearly complete.

Over the years, I’ve slowly tweaked and shared my BBQ Sauce with family and friends. My nephew especially loves it, my first Chocolate Lab loves it too! I think they’ve shared a few plates…lol! There’s nothing much better than throwing a pile ribs on the smoker and floatin’ the day away in the hillbilly pool.

I always git the same response when someone new tries my sauce, “Troy, you need to bottle and sell this sauce!”. I always knew I would someday, and that time has finally come!
